i love the scale in this one and how the shade of the water hints and depth and danger for the dog.

@Raye Michele: I did a bit of cropping to emphasise this scale, putting my little subject near the corner of the frame.
Brilliant capture, and a great composition, it makes you wonder, if he's contemplating jumping in. :)

What a lucky guy you're: beautiful beach, handsome pooch. I love the colour of waves. Great shot!

Great shot Andrew - I learned a poem by James Reeves when I was at school this triggered a memory of all those years ago. Maybe the dog sees the sea dog?? :)
"The sea is a hungry dog, giant and gray It rolls on the beach all day With his clashing teeth and shaggy jaws Hour up on hour he gnaws The rumbling, tumbling stones, And ‘Bones, bones, bones, bones!’ The giant sea-dog moans, Licking his greasy paws.

@Bron: Thanks for the poem!
Great time of day and lighting. The dog looks like he's waiting for the next big wave.

@Josh: He does look like he's waiting for something...
he looks wet already so I'm sure he's been in there -- it's a lovely capture though
