Ascensor Artillería, Valparaíso

Posted by Andrew Gould (Sydney, Australia) on 27 August 2007 in Transportation and Portfolio.

The port city of Valparaíso is extremely hilly and has a number of historic "ascensores" or funicular railways. Quite a few of these are still running and are used as everyday transport by the locals.

Taken on the 2nd of January, 2006.

Me encantan los viejos ascensores de Valparaíso. No hay mejor manera para subir los cerros de la ciudad.

Just an update here:

Just returned last night from the trip to Northern Australia, during which I was hardly able to get online at all. Thanks for all the comments lately. It will take me a few days, but I'll catch up with return visits to your pages.
