This is the entrance to Sydney Harbour, with the closest side being known as South Head, and as you might expect, the far side, North Head. The area from where I took this is called The Gap. Here's what travelonline says about it: "...The walk passes by The Gap, which was once notorious for the number of people who committed suicide by jumping off the cliff face some 100 metres (300 feet) to the rocks or the sea below. It was the site of many heroic recoveries of dead and injured people by the Police Rescue Squad."
