San Francisco streetcars

The cable cars are fun, but I love the streetcars (trams) best!

I didn't know they still has these type of transport in Australia. Andrew, Are you a cricket fan? Just curious, coz there is a lot of things happening :-)

@Shuva Brata Deb: Hi Shuva. Perhaps you didn't notice the title. This is San Francisco, although there are trams in some places in Australia. I read on the Internet that Melbourne has the most extensive tram network in the Southern Hemisphere.

When I arrived in Sydney in 1958 (at age 10), the trams were running here, although they took them out after a very short time. We only have one tram run near part of the city centre, and this is really just a showpiece. I'll post a photo of it soon.

Sorry... I'm not a cricket fan...

@kairospix: Thank's for the comment. I was lucky I had subdued but interesting light, which has given the streetcars real form.

@ManuelaR: Yes, Manuela, they are both beautiful. Personally, if I had to choose, I'd go for the one on the left. It seems to me that the designers were attemping a modern look at the time, but now this appears so quaint.

I like the contrast (color, models) between the two street cars. I agree with the comment about the color saturation, the street cars really pop!

Andrew. Wonderful shot of the street cars. I have lived here for 20 years and never thought of how nice and typical all of these are. The shot captures the essence of a typical day in San Francisco. I am looking forwards to the rest of the series.
