Taken in Sydney on the 23rd of February 2008 at 6:57pm. I was down near the harbourside, and spotted a wedding party being photographed. I had to use 1600 ISO due to the low light and use of the long end of my zoom. This required me to remove noise selectively in the skin areas in Photoshop.

UPDATE after 5 comments: As there is interest in the way I've removed noise in this photo, here is the process that I used.
Open the image in Photoshop. Click on the Filter menu, and select Reduce Noise. On History menu, either right click on Reduce Noise and select New Snapshot or click on the camera icon in the middle of the bottom of the History menu frame, which does the same thing. Click in the box to the left of the words "Reduce Noise" and click on the name of the file at the top of the History menu window. Select the History Brush from the tools on the left and set the opacity to 100% if you want the full effect of the noise reduction (or use a lower percentage for less noise removal in places). Now you can use the History Brush to selectively paint in the noise reduction where you like. Do this with the image set at a high enough magnification so you can clean up in between lines without brushing over them where you want detail to remain. Try reducing the brush size (by right clicking it) to get into smaller areas between lines, etc. Save the changes and you're done.

Gorgeous! Love the expression on her face! And if you don't mind, how do you remove the noise from the skin using ps? I've tried this a couple of times when my ISO was high and I have not been successful.

@Tracey: Thanks, Tracey. See the update to the text, above, for details on the noise reduction process I used.
Wonderful face expression, superb overall composition and framing!

A wonderful shot, and the noise removal was flawless. As Tracey, I have had little success trying to do this.

@Graham Russon: Thank you, Graham. I have now updated the text, explaining how I removed the noise.
Me gusta mucho la expresión de la niña y la luz dorada, pero el encuadre lo cerraría un poco, quitaría vestido por la parte de abajo para centrar más la atención en la niña. Un saludo.

I love it. Just perfect. She is so beautiful. I like the fact that you used high ISO. It gives it a 'filmy' look.

What can she thinks about ? It's a wedding party but she is so nostalgic... Beautiful atmosphere and colours.

I love her thoughtful expression. Nice moment captured.
When I find it necessary to reduce noise I use Imagenomics Noiseware Pro. It is a very reasonably priced, very powerful, and simple to use photoshop plug in or stand alone software. Sometimes I will even apply it to portraits that don't have any noise just because I like the way it smooths skin without making it look plastic.

Andrew - AWESOME shot - for a minute there I thought you'd taken up wedding photography too!!! :) Brilliant, brilliant! I'm going to try your noise reduction on the skin witht he notes you posted. I've used the noise reduction filter before with various results - it is an awesome tool so now I want to try your selective noise reduction and see what I can come up with!

Andrew: Gorgeous shot and once again the teacher in you comes through flying with shining colors. I still need to travel to Sydney to get an update in Photoshop and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
