Boy and his dog

I owe a few return visits to your photos, but it's getting rather late on Thursday night in my part of the world... I will be back tomorrow and over the weekend to catch up with you all, and to go through the last couple of days on the community page. I really do appreciate all the feedback I get from the members of this great community!

Taken north of Sydney at The Entrance on the 2nd of March 2008 (4:04pm) on the way back from the Hunter Valley. (See the previous photo taken there.)

There were plenty of opportunities for people shots at this extremely popular holiday spot on the coast.

Very little postprocessing necessary here. A tiny bit of highlight recovery in Adobe RAW in Photoshop (which I could hav probably done well enough later on in the TIFF. Then converted to 16 bit TIFF, as usual. Shadows lightened a little with the Shadow/Highlight and a small (+18) increase in saturation to just lift the colours a bit, although I found that the water had too much of an orangy tone, so I lowered the orange individually in saturation before clicking OK.

This was followed by a small crop to put the dog in the upper left hand corner. Converted to 8 bit tiff to save disc space, then sharpened a copy of it with Smart Sharpen in PS, resized for upload and converted to JPEG with the Photoshop Image Processor.
