Tern in flight

Posted by Andrew Gould (Sydney, Australia) on 17 April 2008 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

Thanks to all for the extremely positive response to the last two day's photos. I'm now keen on the idea of doing more in that style. Perhaps I'll be lucky as I go off through the city centre this morning... and then again, maybe not! (You'll find out with my next upload.)

As I haven't taken anything else of note since those last two photos, today, I've gone back to one of last month's shots. This was taken on the 2nd of March 2008 down the coast from Sydney.

As the title says, it's a tern. These are smaller and more graceful in the air than seagulls. There are a number of varieties of terns, although I don't know which this one is.
