This was the scene on the 11th of April 2008 at 5:38pm outside the old Sydney Customs House down at the harbour.
There are many places round the city centre where people drink and socialise at outside bars like this after work from Monday to Friday.

@Lorraine: Thank you, Lorraine. I'm presuming they have a branch of the City of Sydney (public) library in there, but I've never been inside. I must check that out next time I'm down there. I'll see if there's anything interesting to photograph inside.
FANTASTIC.... beautiful shot .. (bji kurd ):)

@elmenut: Muchas gracias por el comentario.
Your very fine image has me researching that building, now! I see it was originally just two storeys and with the rest added later. Quite a history locked into those stones . .

@Ronnie 2¢: Thanks for visiting. Very interesting what you've found out about this building. I must look it up, myself.
How interesting...when I first saw the words customs house I thought they were queueing to go inside! :)

@Mandy Provan: Glad you like it!
Looks like a happening place! I love seeing what other photographers decided to leave in pictures and what they choose to crop out. I like how you left the sign in giving a sense of setting to the photo. Nice work.

@Tracey: Thanks, Tracey. This is pretty much as I took it, except that I've cropped a very small bit of background to the right of the sign as well as some pavement in the foreground. This gave it a move compact and focussed look.
Great shot Andrew, like the composition and angle. The bw adds a nice touch.

@Graham Russon: Thanks, Graham. It did seem to look better in black and white to me.
