Newtown at night

This was where we had coffee, etc, on Friday night (23th of April 2008) in Newtown, Sydney. It's a very lively area at night, with dozens of restaurants and cafes, as well as quite a few bookshops that are open late.

While sitting in this cafe, I was thinking that this end of Newtown (Enmore Rd) has become a bit like San Francisco's Haight Ashbury district in appearance over the last few years, although the other end (King St, out of view in the background) is more what I would call more mainstream, although it does have a distinctive flavour about it.
