On the riverbank

Taken on the 16th of this month on a boat tour of what is known as Yellow Waters in Darwin. I don't know the name of the bird, though.

cool shot. like the composition and dof, but not a huge fan of the light. and interesting bird, never seen one like it.

@danthro: Glad you like it in general, Danthro. So do you feel that the light is too bright? I'm not clear on what you mean really, but would be happy to have further feedback from you about this.

very cool -- haven't seen anything on this bird before --looks like a cross bewteen a heron and a kookaburra! glad you enjoyed your trip! i certainly need to get up there -- one of the last 'main' places i haven't been in Oz. :)

yeah, it feels really bright to me. but now that i think about it, maybe that's a problem with me not the photo, i mean that as in real life in the middle of the day, the light is bright, the sun gets hot, is it the appearance of the photo that's bothering me or the effectiveness of the photo at expressing how uncomfortable the sun may have been then in reality?
