Street scene

Taken on Wednesday this week, again. For anyone in Sydney, this is Pitt St Mall. For those who don't know it, it's a couple of blocks that are closed off to traffic.

I would like to keep in touch with members of the aminus3 community.

I don't think it looks this good in real life :o).. very artistic, lovely light.. I like that you have a bit of Pitt Street in there also. Great work Andrew!

@Kylie Greenan: Thanks, Kylie. It's the way a photograph freezes the moment that fascinates me, and I guess that's why a place so familiar to both of us can look so different when seen like this.

Love what you chose to show here. The lady in the ad and the old man on the bench have striking similarity in the way the are sitting!

@Tracey: Thanks, Tracey. Although I wasn't actually trying to catch the man with the same pose, the contrast between the him and the model was what I had in mind.

I like very much the "social" commentary that your shots often convey. Great composition and light -when I first saw it - it appeared almost as a composite photograph. Great job!

yes -- excellent juxta-positioning and mirroring too! the wonderful yellow hue makes this photo nice and rich... a wonderful street shot! are you glad to be back from vacation? :)

Do you think the old man on the bench is dreaming of the beautiful model?....As a composition it is very well done, on two levels, almost a composite...but I know it is not.

cool street shot. i like the juxtaposition of the way the woman in the picture is sitting in her imaginary world of glamor and the way the man on the bench is sitting in the real world
