Fashion statement

Posted by Andrew Gould (Sydney, Australia) on 8 August 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

I actually want to get back to my recent trip to the north of Australia but have got off the track with some photos taken this week. Here's one I just have to post. For those who live here or know Sydney, I took it through the glass on a bus when it stopped on busy Oxford St, near Darlinghurst.

For the second time in a week I've used 3200 ISO and am again amazed at the results I can get with this camera at this setting. That other one is my Market scene, here, if you haven't seen it already:

If I don't mention it, someone may ask why in the world I used f.14 and 3200 ISO here. The high ISO was because parts of the pavement and shopfronts in this street were in shadow and I was sitting on the road side of the bus I was on, looking for something interesting to photograph on the far side of the road. The small aperture was not intentional, but I had no time to change it (or lower the ISO) in the couple of seconds available to get this shot.

A bit of colour and luminance noise reduction used here in Adobe RAW before converting to TIFF, and then Smart Sharpen in Photoshop (as usual) before converting to JPG for upload

And here you have it....

I would like to keep in touch with members of the aminus3 community.
