Newtown at night - 5

Part of the window display in the Buddha Bar, which was featured in the last post.

In case anyone asks about the slow shutter speed, this was possible hand held, as I was using (as always) my Sigma 18-200mm optical stabilizer zoom. Holding the lens against the window glass would have helped, too.

I would like to keep in touch with members of the aminus3 community.

Excellent result for such a slow speed, perfect actually. I bet the whole shop is inpregnated with smells and scents of candles and sticks.

@Observing: Thanks, Mike. I didn't get through the door, even though the shop was open at the time, but you're probably right about the smell. This camera is good at high ISO settings, although I did apply a small amout of noise reduction to the RAW file in Adobe Camera RAW (Photoshop CS2) . I could have got away without it, but I subsequently did some selective noise removal to the darker areas on the sides in the resulting TIFF in Photoshop.

love the colours. the monk's so calm in the "noisy/colourful" shop.. perhaps.. more for the top and crop a lil off the bottom might make the photo more balanced

@emily: Thanks, Emily. I had thought about cropping out that uneven edge at the bottom, and now wish I had. I can't remember now whether there was any reason why I didn't point the camera more upwards.

buen control de la profundidad de campo,una imagen interesante.
no veo grano ni ruido de imagen ,cosa curiosa a 1600 iso.
la composición, aunque no simétrica, bastante equilibrada.
en definitiva una buena imagen.
por cierto,en mi "about" tengo una foto de la misma temática...
