Monks in the street

Posted by Andrew Gould (Sydney, Australia) on 7 October 2008 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

After taking the previous photos of the workers, I saw these Buddhist monks looking in the jewelry store wndow, and managed to catch this before they moved out of view.

This part of the street (Market, if you're in Sydney), is always lined with taxis, and I had no other option than this. I still like it for the expressions on the faces of the monks and the other man, who appeared to be with them, though. I feel also that this is an odd shot, as the positioning of this third person does not seem to have any relation to that of the two monks. In other words, it does not add up tp a cohesive whole. What do you think about all this, then? Maybe I just like it because it's mine!

In my note, a few posts back, I mentioned that the day I took these shots (which was a bit over a week ago), I had been very lucky to get so many interesting subjects within a shot period of time. I've just looked at the EXIF information, and I'm amazed to see that I took all of these five photos with one minute and eleven seconds.

Thanks for visiting my pages. I welcome all comments and any constructive criticism and make it a habit to always return the favour -- even though it may sometimes take me a few days to do so.
