Bondi Beach surfer

i simply love this shot Andrew -- the beautiful white of the sand and the gentle curve of the promenade in the distance... and this general warning sign -- it is hard to beat a sydney beach -- really really hard! (even though i prefer Manly!!) ;)

Fantastic the way you took this, he's walking towards us yet we're looking away at the...sand, great space photo lol ps I'll be very happy to view beach shots, and it's going to snow tomorrow ;)

Not many people there Andrew, probably still too cold. Super shot with a nice contrast. Are you shooting B&W or converting? a very nice tonal quality.

@Observing: Glad you like it, Mike. Water would still be a bit cool by our standards here. I always shoot RAW with auto white balance and use Photoshop CS3's black and white converter. This has quite a few colour filters, so you can get more tonal variation than by simply desaturating, and therefore discarding all colour information.

nice context, with that sign =) the typical surfer, nice leading line... the breathing room on top interests me somehow.. tight tight crop, yet shows how straight/level the building roofs are..
