Australia Day (1)

@Barbara: Thanks, Barbara. While I was taking this, I was thinking that the girl in the foreground would add to the compositiion, although I had no time to actually consider her body language. I was delighted with the latter, though, on seeing the photo on screen, as I feel it adds a real contrast to the scene.

@Anthony Lambert: There are those who would like to see Australia Day moved to a different date, as for many Aboriginal people, the 26th of January signifies the beginning of an invasion by the British who regarded this continent as being terra nullis, or a vacant land, so unfortunately, it can't be said that everyone is happy about the event.
